It’s a brand new year and time to focus on

Some days, my life feels a little like the movie Groundhog Day…different day, same craziness! That’s not the life I want, though, and I’m guessing it’s not the life you want either.
Purpose and Intention
What does it mean to be intentionally purposeful? Well, a purposeful person has a very specific aim or direction they are heading toward along with a strong desire to accomplish that goal.
And so, here are 5 simple ways to challenge your mindset and put yourself on the path of purpose and intention for a productive New Year!
Finding Your Center – Self Care!

Take a little time each day to focus on your self, bringing your mind to a calm, centered state of being. Even if it only lasts for five minutes, this practice is necessary to clear and calm the mind and allow your mental processes to recharge.
Know What’s On Your Plate
No, I’m not talking the five food groups – I’m talking about the things on your to-do list. Don’t try to keep all the things in your head. If you do…you’ll probably find that you’re forgetting half of them!
The stress and strain that comes along with that feeling of forgetfulness is NOT worth it. I promise you’ll be much more productive if you take a few minutes to dump everything you know you need to do onto a piece of paper or a note in your phone.
Once you have all the things out of your head, you’ll be freeing up brain space to actually process those things and start getting them done. Plus, there’s nothing more satisfying that crossing something off a list, am I right?
Change Things Up
Avoid getting stuck in the same old rut all day every day. Change up your routines and habits regularly to keep them fresh and interesting. Always have Tacos on Tuesday? Maybe Thursday can be Taco Day too! After all, you can never have too many tacos!
Be Flexible
And not just in Yoga Class. Allow yourself the freedom to change directions and re-prioritize things. Just because something was number one on your to-do list last week doesn’t mean it has to be number one this week. If priorities change, go with it!
Besides – life happens and emergencies occur. If you’re not flexible enough to change pace and reevaluate what you’re working on, you’ll never be able to keep up.
Give Grace
Grace toward yourself is just as important as grace toward those around you. Give yourself permission to make mistakes, then MOVE ON. Get back on track and keep on moving forward. Tomorrow is a new day, with new opportunities. Don’t miss them because you’re lost in today’s mistakes.
